Donating to the general fund

The general fund for the Stanley Surname DNA Project is under management of FTDNA - project administrators do not receive these donations.

You can make a donation using your credit card or PayPal account here. Be sure to type in Stanley as the choice of your surname project.

Contact the Project Administrators if you have any wishes as to how your donation should be used immediately after you make your donation; without this, the Project Administrators will decide how the donation will be used. In both events, a donation to the general fund can only be applied towards a sample kit or the upgrade of a sample kit.

Sponsor a sample kit

The best procedure to sponsor a sample kit is by placing the order on behalf of the participant you are sponsoring. Fill out the order form with the participant's name and the where the sample kit will be send to. Use participant's email address (if available) as the first one, list your own email address under "Additional" if you wish to be informed by FTDNA about the results and possible matches.

Be sure to let participant know that a) you are about to make him a participant, and b) you are going to sponsor his participation when you use participant's mailing address. Do not let a sample kit arrive at the address of a non-suspecting participant or the kit may end up in the garbage can.

Making a pledge

Pledges are a very useful tool to attract possible participants from a specific lineage. To make a pledge, contact the Project Administrators. Specify how much you wish to pledge and how to use this pledge, i.e. which lineage. Make sure to include enough details so future participants know they are a member of that lineage.
